History of the Architectural Concept

The history of the architectural concept is rooted in the symbolism of Côte d'Ivoire's national coat of arms, featuring an artistic representation of oil palms, emblems of the country's cash crops. These palm trees, integrated on either side of the coat of arms, occupy a central place as national symbols, belonging to the palm family and distinguished by their evergreen leaves.

The deeper meaning of design choices

Architectural Influence of the Oil Palm

The architectural configuration of the building draws its inspiration from the distinctive characteristics of the oil palm, intended to symbolise prosperity in local sport and economy. By fusing regional characteristics with international technological advances, the building becomes a reflection of Africa's unique cultural charm.

Transcendence of the Physical Aspect

The fusion of local elements and international influences allows the building to transcend its physical appearance. It becomes much more than a simple building, embodying an architectural expression that communicates not only African cultural heritage, but also the vibrant sporting spirit that drives the region.

Technical Data

The Stade Laurent Pokou covers an area of more than 23 hectares. The inauguration of the Stade San Pedro, which took place on Saturday 9 September 2023, marks an important milestone for Côte d'Ivoire and CAF.

Technical and technological innovation

Sound system

To meet the challenge that the stadium is a semi-enclosed structure with a lot of noise around it, the design of the system takes full account of the rationality of equipment matching, full exploitation of equipment performance and improving the efficiency of equipment use.

LED display system

The screen in question is a colour screen with the basic colours red, green and blue, and 256 levels of grey scale. It is capable of displaying videos, animations, images and other video files.

Solar panels

Solar energy, as a clean source of energy, offers the advantage of generating no environmental pollution when it is used. Solar street lamps are installed in accordance with the sunrise and sunset cycles.

roofing

During the dry season, light temperatures reach very high levels, while the rainy season is characterised by a high frequency of thunderstorms.
